16 month old Kaylee Kay

Where has the freakin frakin time gone?  I can't believe it has been 4 months since kays 1st birthday bash.  I really hate how fast it goes, and how much things she used to do disappear & I already forget somethings.  I wish I had one of those amazing photographic memories.  Kay is the exact baby girl i dreamed about....so fun, loving, and silly.  She laughs at everything, even her self.  I could kiss her all day, and i do.

*Started crawling up the stairs at 9 months & down at 14 months

* Still sleeps through the night 8-8.

* Takes 2 naps a day.  3-4 hours total.

Kaylee Kay's 1st Birthday Party!

Seriously, where has the time gone???  Can't believe my little baby doll face is one now.  The year literally flew by.  I look back with the fondest of memories.  It has truly been the best year of our lives.  Looking at her new born pics I can't even comprehend that she was that little.  I miss that sweet little thing who i held literally all day just staring into her deep blue eyes.  Sometimes it still seems so surreal that I am a mama.  Now a mama to a toddler....what!! The love I have for this girl is really hard to put into words, the closest thing I can think I can relate it to is the love the savior has for us.  It is pure and beyond this world.  Literally would give of my life for her.  Motherhood is truly the closest thing to godliness.  I feel so blessed to be a woman and be able to bring life into the world.  I  know that having a family is the reason we are on this earth, to bring forth life and raise them to love God.  I cannot wait to be able to teach sweet Kay all about her loving father in heaven and about the plan to return to him.  But for now i will cherish all these precious moments.  Okay enough with the mushy stuff.

Party time.  So  as you know 1st Birthdays are a Big deal.  You have to go all out.  So  being myself I overwhelmed myself with all I wanted to do..some ideas I had to give up since it wasn't summer yet...lame.  But  I decided to do a multi color party with lots of food.  We had croissants with cranberry chicken mix inside, strawberry spinach salad, fruit & dip & veggies & dip.  Also i made vanilla almond cupcakes and a 2 tier Strawberry almond cake with Vanilla Butter cream frosting..  All homemade.  I tried a rose technique on cake & cupcakes,  but it wasn't the easiest thing, but at least I tried right. So i was baking up a storm.  I also did some fun decorations and made a birthday banner with pics from newborn to 12 months.  We  had lots of friends and family come over and had a blast eating, talking and watching Kay open presents.  We also gave her a birthday cupcake but being the non messy girl she is, she didn't get to crazy with it....lame.  I tried to make her smash her face but nope.  It was still fun watching her eat the cupcake which she enjoyed.  Overall it was a successful party and I am so glad I did all I did.  And Kay got spoiled as always:)

12 month check up:
weight: 20 lbs 34%
Height: 29 in.  28 %
Healthy and petite as ever.  :)
Sleeps from 8-9 everyday, naps twice a day for 1 1/2 each time!
Almost walking, but im letting her take her time...crawling is so cute.  Drinks Whole milk.

Loves: Music, dancing, playing with remotes & Iphone.  All food, especially breads and cheese & potatoes.  Cuddling before bed.  Being Outside.  When Zack & I use our silly voices.  Crawling up all 2 sets of stairs.  Throwing clothes and opening drawers.  Wearing one of my necklaces.  Laughs everytime we close our eyes to say prayers.  Loves books.  Loves to hold on to a golf ball in the car, loves climbing all over daddy and pulling hair.  Playing with my wallet.  Loves to wave and Say Hi & Bye.  Says mama & dada and Yeah & No.  Said I love you perfectly.

Valentines Day Babyyy! BEST DINNER IVE EVER MADE!

Valentine's day was a perfect day.  Started off with baby girl sleeping in till 9:15ish then went to a good friends who also lives 2 town homes down.  Came back to a Beautiful rose bouquet sent by my hubbs to baby girl & I, they were beautiful.  Then started the prep for THE BEST DINNER IVE EVER MADE!  For real though,  im a carnivore fanatic.  I crave a big juicy steak or Prime Rib pretty much daily.  Zack & I's favorite restaurant is Fleming's downtown....amazing.  But super pricey usually about 150$ every time we go....since we went there for Zack's Birthday January 28th, I decided I was going to try to master those amazing Filet Mignon's they make.  So i looked online for hours finding the perfect recipe.  I will post the link at the end.  I was so excited to make this but kind of nervous.  I got 2 juicy 10 oz filets from a butcher, They were beautiful.  I also made red garlic crock pot potatoes and creamed corn.    The potatoes were to die for!!! Prob because they have cream cheese, sour cream, and butter all mixed in. YUM!  Cream corn is a family recipe that is so good.  So my hubbs came home to a gourmet meal,  which he loved.  I also got him a new button down shirt, phone cover, candy, plus I made a canvas with one of our wedding pictures with some words from the song we danced to at our wedding.  It turned out beautiful!  He got me roses, pedicure gift car, and Nordstrom gift card then got baby girl 2 cute outfits.  We are very spoiled.  He is the sweetest man alive and I am constantly reminded how lucky I am.  I feel like everyday is Valentine's when you are married to your best friend.  We also got a night out on the town Friday (day after) , we went to dinner & a movie...We haven't been to a movie since Batman so this was awesome!  Thanks Caitlin for watching baby girl:)  K so here is some pics of the dinner & canvas.  I will post recipe links as well. I am truly the luckiest.

Forever Family...Our Sealing Day.

As I look back at Zack and I's journey to get sealed I can't help but be so proud.  Since day one after we got married we began preparing and making the necessary steps.  The usual time frame is a year after civil marriage so of course this is what we planned on.  We went to our bishop cleared up anything & everything in our pasts.  But because of Zack's previous marriage/sealing we had to take quite a few extra steps.  Not only that but we had 2 bishops during this time frame who were both let's just say not the best.  One would completely forget things and the other tested our patience.  They are both great men but boy did we learn they were just "men."  We really wanted our baby Kay to be born into the covenant and did everything we could to have that happen, but again our patience was tested.  There was times i wanted to freak out, cry, I would beg heavenly father to allow our bishop to see the light.  We had done everything we had supposed to,  been very willing and obedient.  But now I know why heavenly father had us go through this patience testing struggle.  We really learned how to trust the lord, we really became even closer as a couple.  And because of this long wait we wanted it so so badly that we had the absolute best most amazing spiritual experience.  We got the authorization letter from the first presidency in November and We decided to do it at the Portland Oregon Temple On Dec 29th 2012 since we were going to be there for Christmas with my family anyway, it was perfect timing.. Such a beautiful temple.  We chose that one cause that's where I am from and where all my family lives.  It was so amazing to have every sibling of mine and my parents & Zack's parents in the temple with us.  I immediately felt my sister Kaylee when I walked into the room and knew she was there to share this experience with me. When Baby Kay came into the sealing room in her white dress, she was an angel straight from heaven.  I had never felt anything like it.  The experience was the most sacred beautiful thing in the world.  Looking at Zack across the alter I felt overwhelmed with love and gratitude for this amazing man.  There is nothing I wanted more than to be with him and our babes forever.  He truly is one of a kind.  Without his constant good example,  strong testimony and always helping me be better I may not have been at this point in my life.  He has so many Christlike attributes that just come so naturally to him.  I am so lucky to call him mine for eternity.  I am thankful for lessons I learned on this journey to that day,  I know that is was meant to be.  I am thankful to have this gospel in my life and to have the knowledge that I do.  I am the happiest I have ever been and have never felt more Joy.  I am thankful for my family and for their constant love and support.  After the sealing we had a big dinner and yummy cake that my mom had made that had the temple pic on it, so cute.  We are so blessed and feel so much gratitude to our Heavenly father and Savior Jesus Christ.

Chubby baby no more (9months)

Kaylee Kay turned 9 months on Saturday.  I cannot believe it.  It has gone by so so fast.  Just like everyone had told me it would.  She is no longer my little baby.  She is almost to big to cradle and doesn't like to cuddle in bed in the mornings anymore.  She is so talkative and active now.  She crawls all over the place since 8 months.  She is now waving and saying Hi, mama, dada, and yeah.  She loves food anything I'm eating she wants.  Her favorites are greek yugurt, mashed taters, anything blueberry, rice treats and WATER!  I am still nursing her and I am so glad I have made it this long.  I am loving the quiet times I get with her when she is nursing.  She loves playing with toys and has recently got lots of new ones.  Her favorites are her elephant ball blower and little phone and piano.  She loves music still and has started to dance along mommy:)  She loves her daddy and gets so hyper when she hears the garage door.  She will give kisses and pull your hair out at the same time...haha.  She likes anything with bright colors.  She loves her mommy, and still hates if I leave the room.  She stands up in her crib and likes to pull all of her crib bumpers apart.  She still sleeps through the night (most the time.)  Still has zero teeth,  both the bottom ones are sitting right there but won't break through, poor girl.  Her laugh is the best thing I have ever heard and her smile melts my heart.  I am so lucky to have this baby girl as mine forever.

weighs: 17.8 lbs 31%

length: 27 inches 24%

she used to be like 78% for weight.  She has slimmed out so much since starting to crawl and she is so much more active. The doctor says she is perfect and growing right on pace for her.  She still looks kind of chubby cause she's a shorty.  I do miss the little chubby bunny but sure do love her growing personality and watching her learn new things. We cannot wait to go to Oregon in 5 days to be with my family!! :)

Maui Trip.

We decided to take a little family trip to Maui just the 3 of us.  Zack has been working so hard & has had an amazing year...so we thought it was well deserved.  Plus I've been dying to go to a beach.  Also my parents have a fantastic Timeshare in Maui they weren't going to use, so we were so down to take advantage of free lodging.  So we flew out Sunday the 28th and had to go to Phoenix then Maui.  It was about 6 hours of flying.  I was super nervous about the 5 hour flight with baby, but seriously she did so amazing.  She slept 4 of the 5 hours and never cried.  We were praised by everyone on the plane.  It made me so happy.  She is the best babes.  We got to Maui around 2:30 & got a rental car & i got us a sweet deal on a new Ford Explorer...such a nice SUV.  We headed to the Westin Villas in Kaanapali.  If you Have never been there, it is definitely worth checking out....It is Amazing.  The rooms have full kitchen & a huge jetted tub.  We pretty much spent the week at the pool, lounging, shopping, Eating!  All my favorite things to do.  We brought our baby monitor & were able to leave baby in the room while she napped & we watched her from our phones at the pool.  It was so nice to be able to have some time with Zack alone & get some good sun.  We spent a lot of time at the kids are where they had a pirate ship that u could play in with slides & fun stuff.  Kaylee loved the water and could be in it all day.  Luckily she never got burned...I seriously lathered her up big time.  We ate at amazing places....I gained 4 lbs.  Totally worth it.  It was such a fun relaxing trip.  I did do something so Blond though....we went to the airport to leave back home....got up to the counter & our confirmation # kept saying too early to check in...I'm like um What the heck.  So i ask the lady yeah we were a day early.  SO we had to pay a pretty penny to make it on that flight...but we did it.  Zack had to be back to work and we just wanted to get home.  I was super embarrassed and felt so bad to waste our money like that, but you live & you learn i guess.  Zack was so sweet and understanding.  Also i will never to an overnight flight ever again...we did that on the way home & i couldnt sleep cause baby was sleeping on me & i could never get comfortable.  But overrall we had an awesome time.  Making memories with your family is what this life is about.  I'm thankful Zack works so hard so we are able to take vacations.  We are so blessed.  I love my Family so much.  Till next year....:)
